Hello. My name is Mike Crowe. I am the founder, writer, and creative mind behind Mike Crowe Freelance Copywriting.
Before I wrote this About Me page, I spent over 30 years in software engineering, supporting mission-critical systems such as operating systems, databases, and storage platforms. I was the fix-it guy, the “buck stops here” guy, who didn’t just solve problems— I owned them.
When I retired from that world, I wasn’t ready to stop helping people. I wanted to build something of my own—something creative, challenging, and valuable. That’s when I discovered copywriting (yes, it’s more than a legal term buried in a file cabinet). I dove in, trained with the American Writers and Artists Institute (AWAI), and built a new career helping businesses sell their stories.
Today, I work primarily with small, independently owned businesses—the mom-and-pop shops that pour their hearts into their work and need the right words to make it click. Whether you sell handmade soap, software solutions, or something in between, I can help you connect with your audience in a way that’s clear, compelling, and true to you.
My style? Witty but professional. Persuasive but never pushy. Friendly, accurate, and packed with action verbs to make your message move. The copy should reflect your voice, values, and what truly matters to your customers. That’s why I take the time to get to know you, your business, your goals, and what makes your offer unique.
I love telling a good story. But more than that, I love fusing story with strategy—bringing emotion and intention together to show how your products and services meet real needs.
